Sending voice notes on mobile

  2. Long-press the microphone button
  3. Record your message
  4. Release to send
  5. Slide left to cancel

You'll feel haptic feedback when recording starts.

Requirements

  • Must be within the 24-hour messaging window
  • Browser must have microphone permission enabled
  • Voice notes are sent as OGG audio format

Duration limits

  • Minimum: 1 second
  • Maximum: No hard limit (but keep under 2 minutes for best experience)

When to use voice notes

Good for:

  • Quick responses when typing is slow
  • Explaining complex instructions
  • Adding a personal touch
  • Multilingual communication (easier than typing in another language)

Avoid for:

  • Sensitive information (can't be edited/deleted easily)
  • Noisy environments
  • Very long explanations (send a document instead)

Tips

  1. Keep it short — 15-30 seconds is ideal
  2. Speak clearly — Reduce background noise
  3. Summarize first — "I'm sending a voice note about your order status"
  4. Follow up with text — For key details (order numbers, dates) that need to be referenced later
