3 minutes read time Difficulty: intermediate

Customizing dashboard widgets

Build your perfect dashboard by adding, removing, and rearranging widgets.

Entering edit mode

  1. Go to the Dashboard
  2. Click "Customize" (or the edit/gear icon)
  3. The dashboard enters edit mode — widgets become draggable

Adding widgets

  1. In edit mode, click "Add Widget"
  2. Choose from available widget types:
    • Stat card — Single metric with trend
    • Line chart — Metric over time
    • Bar chart — Comparison chart
    • Pie chart — Distribution breakdown
    • Table — Data in rows/columns
    • Recent messages — Live message feed
  3. Configure the widget:
    • Data source — Messages, contacts, campaigns, etc.
    • Metric — Count, sum, average
    • Time period — Last 7d, 30d, custom
  4. Click Add

Rearranging widgets

In edit mode:

  • Drag and drop widgets to reorder
  • Widgets snap to a grid layout
  • Arrange by priority — most important at the top

Removing widgets

  1. In edit mode, hover over a widget
  2. Click the X or Remove button
  3. Widget is removed (can be re-added later)

Saving your layout

Click "Save" to keep your changes. The layout is saved per-user — each team member can have their own dashboard.

For managers

  • Total messages (stat card)
  • Response time trend (line chart)
  • Agent leaderboard (table)
  • Campaign performance (bar chart)

For agents

  • My conversations (stat card)
  • Unread messages (stat card)
  • Recent messages (feed)
  • Today's stats (stat cards)

Tips

  1. Less is more — 4-6 widgets is ideal, don't overcrowd
  2. Put key metrics first — Most important at top-left
  3. Use different chart types — Variety makes scanning easier
  4. Review monthly — Remove widgets you never look at
