Adding recipients to a campaign
After creating a campaign and selecting a template, you need to add the people who will receive your message.
Method 1: Manual entry
Best for small lists (under 50 contacts).
- In the campaign, click "Add Recipients"
- Select the "Manual" tab
- Enter one recipient per line in this format:
+919876543210, John Doe +919876543211, Jane Smith +919876543212 - If your template has variables, add them after the name:
+919876543210, John Doe, ORD-123, May 30 - Click "Add Recipients"
Method 2: CSV import
Best for large lists from spreadsheets.
- Click "Add Recipients" → "CSV" tab
- Click "Choose File" and select your CSV
- Required columns:
phone_number(orphone,mobile) - Optional columns:
name, plus any template parameter columns - Click "Import"

phone_number,name,order_id,delivery_date
+919876543210,John Doe,ORD-123,May 30
+919876543211,Jane Smith,ORD-456,May 31
After importing, you'll be asked if you want to save these contacts as a reusable list.
Method 3: From contacts
Best when your contacts are already in AIsoule.
- Click "Add Recipients" → "Contacts" tab
- Browse or search your existing contacts
- Select contacts using checkboxes
- Click "Add Selected"
Method 4: From segments (lists)
Best for targeting specific groups.
- Click "Add Recipients" → "From Lists" tab
- You'll see your custom contact segments
- Click "Import" next to the segment you want
- All contacts in that segment are added as recipients
Note: Only custom segments appear here. System segments (All Contacts, Unread, etc.) are not available for campaign import.
Viewing recipients
After adding, you can see all recipients in the Recipients tab of the campaign:
- Phone number
- Name
- Status (pending, sent, delivered, read, failed)
- Error message (if failed)
Removing recipients
To remove a recipient before sending:
- Go to the Recipients tab
- Find the recipient
- Click the delete icon
Limits
- Maximum 100,000 recipients per campaign
- Recipients are deduplicated by phone number (no duplicates)
Tips
- Validate numbers first — Invalid numbers waste your messaging quota
- Start small — Test with 50-100 contacts before sending to thousands
- Use segments — Create targeted segments for better engagement
- Include names — Personalized messages get higher read rates
