Key concepts

Templates

Pre-approved message formats required for starting conversations. Must be submitted to Meta for review before use.

24-hour window

After a customer messages you, you have 24 hours to reply freely. After that, only templates work.

Conversations

Meta bills per conversation (24-hour window), not per message. Categories: Marketing, Utility, Authentication, Service.

Phone Number ID

A unique identifier for your WhatsApp number in the API. Different from your actual phone number.

WABA (WhatsApp Business Account)

The container that holds your phone numbers, templates, and settings. One WABA can have multiple numbers.

Business Portfolio (Meta Business Account)

The top-level Meta account that owns your WABA. Used for billing and admin access.

How messages flow

Your Agent → AIsoule → WhatsApp Cloud API → Customer's Phone
Customer's Phone → WhatsApp Cloud API → Webhook → AIsoule → Your Agent

Getting started checklist

  1. ✅ Create AIsoule account
  2. ✅ Connect WhatsApp number (Embedded Signup)
  3. ✅ Create and get templates approved
  4. ✅ Import contacts
  5. ✅ Send your first template message
  6. ✅ Set up chatbot for auto-replies

Common misconceptions

"I need a new phone number" — Not necessarily. You can use your existing number, but it can't be active on WhatsApp Messenger simultaneously.

"Messages are free" — Meta charges per conversation. AIsoule charges a platform fee. Both are separate.

"I can message anyone" — You need opt-in consent. Messaging people who didn't agree can get you banned.

"Templates are instant" — Templates need Meta approval (minutes to hours). Plan ahead.
